A Des Moines man is in custody and faces an attempted murder charge following an investigation into a shots-fired incident in Johnston. According to Johnston police, officers called to the 5600 block of NW 52nd Street just before 10 a.m. on Saturday. Investigators with the department were able to identify the suspect, 33-year-old Jeffrey Scott Johnson. Investigators say a search warrant was executed on 9th Street in Des Moines Saturday afternoon. Johnston police worked with the Des Moines Police Department and the Metro STAR Tactical Unit. Johnson was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail. In addition to an attempted murder charge, Johnson is charged with intimidation with a weapon and going armed with intent. Johnston police continue to investigate the incident.
