The Planned Parenthood clinic in Santa Cruz has shut down effective immediately, as part of a wave of closures across California due to federal budget cuts under the Trump administration’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”California Planned Parenthood, the state’s largest abortion provider, lost all federal funding this week. According to Planned Parenthood, facilities in Santa Cruz, San Mateo, Gilroy, Madera, and South San Francisco have been shut down. The national organization is suing, arguing the bill unfairly bans Medicaid reimbursements to nonprofit clinics that provide abortions. The funding loss could hit nearly $300 million.
