PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – The test results are in: Dozens of vultures found dead in Pierce Township died from bird flu, officials said.

About 70 of the birds were found and removed from the grounds of St. Bernadette Elementary School in December. Additional birds were later removed, according to Clermont County Public Health.

Two of the birds were taken by the health department to a state laboratory for testing, which confirmed the H5N1 strain.
