Michigan running back Bryson Kuzdzal has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He played the past three seasons with the Wolverines and will have two more years of eligibility remaining.
Kuzdzal did not play as a true freshman in 2023 but went on to appear in six games the following season as a redshirt freshman, mostly on special teams. He played in nine games this past year to record 326 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 76 carries. He also had four catches for 10 yards.
Bryson Kuzdzal played high school football at Forest Hills Eastern in Ada, Michigan. He recorded 1,378 yards rushing and 26 total touchdowns as a senior.
So far this offseason, Kuzdzal is the 18th Michigan player who has entered the transfer portal. However, he is the first running back to do so.
The Wolverines are coming off of a 9-3 finish this past season and entering a new era following the firing of Sherrone Moore. Longtime Utah coach Kyle Whittingham takes over the program, bringing a history of consistency with him.
Michigan is only seasons removed from winning the national championship in 2023. Now they’ll look to build their roster up under Whittingham to get in a position to reach those heights once more.

More on the transfer portal in 2026
The 15-day transfer portal this winter will be the only window, opening Jan. 2 and closing on Jan. 16. The NCAA opted to eliminate the spring transfer portal window for football, meaning this will be the only opportunity for student athletes to enter their names.
The move to a one-time-only portal is supposed to allow schools to finish their season with their entire team before the transfer portal opens. As has been the previous standard, athletes on College Football Playoff teams still playing would have 5 days beginning the day after their team’s final game to enter the transfer portal.
This season’s CFP semifinals are set for Jan. 8 and 9. The CFP national championship game is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
