Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to westbound Interstate 80 at the 397 exit around 4 p.m.
According to LFR, there were dogs in one of the vehicles involved in the crash that jumped out. One was injured and another, a golden retriever, is still missing.
The dog that was injured in is the care of animal control, and one person involved in the crash was transported to the hospital.
The earlier crash caused a back up in traffic, leading the Nebraska State Patrol to employ rolling slowdowns. Two separate fender benders were reported that resulted from these efforts, LFR said.
