Once again the United States has taken over the worldwide headlines, this time after a fatal shooting of a woman by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

Video footage captured by bystanders shows the Renee Nicole Good in her car following the orders of ICE agents to move along. However, despite acting in the correct manner, she was shot multiple times in the face and died at the scene which was less than a mile from the street where George Floyd was killed by police in 2020.

Other footage captured, presumably by a mobile phone, shows ICE agents subsequently denying a doctor access to check the woman’s pulse as she is taken out of the vehicle.

Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis spoke to CNN in the wake of the events, and in no uncertain terms told ICE to “get the fuck out” of the city.

Donald Trump, however, along with his secretary of homeland security, Kristi Noem, defended the actions of the agent, with the president saying that the defenceless woman was “a professional agitator” who violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer.”

As the news broke, thousands of people all across the country took to the streets to peacefully protest against ICE’s actions, the barbarity with which they act, and their apparent immunity from any consequences.
