MINNEAPOLIS — On the one-week anniversary of a tragedy that shook the heart of our community, Sheletta Brundidge and local faith leaders are calling for a different kind of gathering—one rooted in silence, reflection, and spiritual support.
At 9:37:13 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, a prayer vigil will begin at the site where Renee Good lost her life. The service is dedicated to her three children and a community searching for a way forward through the grief.

“This is the moment her three children lost their mother. The moment our town was turned upside down. Our faith is the only thing that’ll get us through this. We can’t do it by ourselves; we need each other and, most of all, we need God’s help.”
Sheletta Brundidge, Founder of ShelettaMakesADifference.org
Event Purpose & Structure

The vigil is designed to be a peaceful, stationary presence. Rather than a march or protest, the community will stand in 30-minute shifts for three hours—representing both the three bullets fired and the three children Renee left behind.
Focus: Peace, unity, and healing for Renee’s family.
Format: Quiet prayer and reflection in 30-minute intervals.
Participation: Open to all faith leaders and “prayer warriors” in the Twin Cities area.
