High Zaptitude sees Electric-type Pokémon take the spotlight in Pokémon Go, bringing the release of Wattrel.
Running until Sunday 18th January at 8pm (local time), a number of Global Challenges are available throughout the High Zaptitude event. These challenges see the entire Pokémon Go community come together to complete a specific task in return for useful rewards!
Alongside these challenges, you’ll also be able to enjoy the High Zaptitude research tasks and bonuses. Shiny Tadbulb has also been released!

Below you’ll find the High Zaptitude field research tasks:
Catch 5 Pokémon reward – Chinchou, Tynamo or Helioptile encounter
Catch 15 Pokémon reward – Emolga, Yamper or Tadbulb encounter
TBA reward (Unlocks after Global Challenge completed) – Wattrel encounter

The High Zaptitude event is currently running and you can now catch Wattrel! Make sure you the January event and raid schedules.
Remote Trading has been released in Pokémon Go! You can get a shiny Keldeo thanks to the Masterwork Research: Pony Tales quest and there’s also the new Precious Paths Special Research quest.
There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! First, it’s worth learning about the level update. After this, you might want to fight in the Go Battle League, use Party Play, compete in a PokéStop Showcase or explore a Route for its Gift Exchange. Keep an eye out for rare Pokémon and don’t forget to collect Max Particles, so you can battle Dynamax Pokémon in Max Battles.
Wattrel debuts in Pokémon Go
Wattrel and Kilowattrel, its evolution, are debuting in Pokémon Go during the High Zaptitude event. As their names suggest, these Pokémon are Electric and Flying-type members of Gen 9. Want to add these Pokémon to your Pokédex? Then check out our how to get Wattrel guide.

High Zaptitude Global Challenges
Three Global Challenges are running throughout the High Zaptitude event, with the next one automatically starting after one has been completed until we’ve run out of Global Challenges. A new bonus will be unlocked every time the Pokémon Go community completed one of these challenges.
Wattrel.
Here are the High Zaptitude Global Challenge rewards:
Level 1 – Double catch XP.
Level 2:
Double catch Stardust.
Wattrel and its evolution, Kilowattrel, will debut in Pokémon Go.
Level 3:
Double hatch XP.
Double hatch Stardust.
High Zaptitude eggs
Any 2km egg you collect during the High Zaptitude event has the chance of hatching the following Pokémon:
Pichu
Elekid
Tokel
Tadbulb
High Zaptitude pay-to-play quest
£1.99, $1.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency.
Non-refundable and can not be purchased using PokéCoins.
Can be given to a player you’re Great Friends or higher with.
Must be completed, with rewards claimed, by Sunday 18th January at 8pm (local time).
Unlocks additional bonus – hatch distance halved for eggs placed in Incubators during event period.
