Rangers are on the brink of sealing a stunning move for Andreas Skov Olsen until the end of the season after the Denmark international “edged closer to agreeing personal terms” with the Ibrox club.

The 26-year-old winger – who moved to Wolfsburg in a £12million deal from Club Brugge 12 months ago – emerged as a target for the Light Blues over the weekend as Danny Rohl tools up for a Scottish Premiership title fight.

Now, the Rangers Review claim the club are close to “finalising a deal” for the winger “following positive discussions over the last 24 hours” with the player keen on the move, as reported by Record Sport on Sunday.

Rangers are pulling out all the stops in a bid to land the player who would be seen as major coup and was a target when Giovanni van Bronckhorst was in charge in the summer of 2022 and was also on the club’s radar when the Dutchman’s predecessor Steven Gerrard was in charge.

Olsen is still under contract with the German side until 2029 and they must given the final green light for the move but all things point to him becoming a Rangers player.

Celtic boss Martin O’Neill let slip that Wolfsburg were the team who wanted Daizen Maeda in the summer – and Olsen heading for the exit could even see them return for the Japan star.

Rangers have already signed Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz and will announce Tuur Rommens imminently.
