The second round matches are going to take place on Day 3 of the WTA Adelaide International, and many big names will be in action, including the defending champion, Madison Keys. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate, but which players will advance?

WTA Adelaide Day 3 Predictions
Diana Shnaider vs Katerina Siniakova

Head-to-Head: Shnaider 1-1 Siniakova

Diana Shnaider got a huge win over Leylah Fernandez in the first round as she looked brilliant and hit lots of winners in the match. She forced Fernandez into playing long rallies and won most of them. Katerina Siniakova, on the other hand, demolished Dayana Yastremska in straight sets in an unexpected performance after losing in the second round of qualifying. This performance should give her a lot of confidence, but it will be hard to back it up against another quality opponent.
Prediction: Shnaider in 3

Daria Kasatkina vs Jaqueline Cristian

Head-to-Head: Kasatkina 3-0 Cristian

Former Adelaide International finalist Daria Kasatkina registered her first win in Australia as an Australian by beating Maria Sakkari in the first round. It was a rollercoaster match, but Kasatkina did well to lock in after going behind in the second set. Jacqueline Cristian can be very good on her day, and she showed that by upsetting Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first round. Her confidence must be high, and I can see her claiming another big win.
Prediction: Cristian in 3

Madison Keys vs Tereza Valentova

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Tereza Valentova was 0-5 down in the first set of her match against Jelena Ostapenko, but managed to turn it around somehow and won the set. Ostapenko later retired in the second set to give the 18-year-old her first tour-level win of the season. Madison Keys has to defend a lot of points in the coming days, and she must get into a good rhythm and peak at the right time. This won’t be an easy match for the defending champion, but she should get it done with her experience.
Prediction: Keys in 3
