If successfully completed, the charges could be dismissed.

Lauren Skidmore of the Open Door Network expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, stating, “We don’t feel like the decision was fair and we don’t feel like all the facts of the case are being considered.” Skidmore launched a petition to raise awareness and push for change, which has garnered over 2,000 signatures.

H.A. Sala, Scrivner’s defense attorney, supported the judge’s decision, saying, “It was the right decision that the judge made based on the facts and circumstances of the case.”
