Just when fans thought they knew everything about Halloween Baking Championship, Stephanie Boswell and John Henson dropped a surprise — they’re engaged!

The pastry chef and comedian, both familiar faces on Food Network’s hit show, shared the happy news on social media, leaving fans delighted and a little shocked.

Boswell showed off her gorgeous engagement ring and shared her excitement in the caption,  “YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!! WE’RE ENGAGED!!! “My love @realjohnhenson and I are making it official. Stay tuned for me bargain dress hunting and a backyard wedding with chickens in the background!”

Henson quickly responded in the comments, expressing his joy, “I have never felt happier or more at peace than when I’m with you. I am the luckiest man ever. (And that doesn’t even include the desserts!).”

Fans were thrilled by the announcement, with many admitting they hadn’t realized the two were dating.

One person wrote, “Wait— whaaaaattt?? Had no idea! Congratulations.”

Another added, “Congratulations!!!! Didn’t know you two were an item!! What fun you must be together.”

“WHAAAT??? How did I not know you guys were dating? This is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time! Congratulations,” said a third fan.

The engagement news comes after a season of mixed reactions from viewers of Halloween Baking Championship.

Although fans still loved the show’s classic challenges, a new high-stakes twist was added: each episode’s bottom three bakers must now “bake for their lives” to stay in the competition.

Fans were divided over the new “bake-off” element, voicing their frustration online. On Reddit, one user claimed the change “ruined” part of why they tune in.

Another dedicated viewer even emailed Food Network. “I was so mad I sent Food Network an email, I wrote: I wait all year for this, no joke my friends and I get together and have a little party. This year it was ruined …”
