ST. LOUIS — Former volunteers at KDHX are launching their own radio station Feb. 1, first as an internet-only platform as they eye eventually buying an FM frequency.
Community Radio St. Louis, CRSTL, will operate from the Lindenwood Park Place building in Lindenwood Park, 3460 Jamieson Ave. Volunteer Jean Ponzi said the group has set up two studios there in rented space, ahead of the launch of its schedule of 24-7 programming at crstl.fm. A mobile app is being developed. An entity tied to Jeff Scally owns the former church.Â
DJs formerly with shows on KDHX will appear on CRSTL, along with new talent, calendars, reviews and commentaries, the station said. Shows will include “No Time to Tarry Here” with Pablo Meshuggi; “Family Reunion” with Judy Stein; “Vibes & Stuff” with BIKO fka Needles; “The Bridge” with DJ Whiz; “Midday Jamboree” with Fred Gumaer; “The Back Country” with Jeff Corbin; and “Blues in the Night” with Art Dwyer.Â
