It wasn’t devastating for Scott Morrow. He knew he had to earn his spot, that nothing would be handed to him. He wanted to make the Blueshirts roster, sure, but he didn’t necessarily expect it.

Still, after an impressive training camp, Morrow felt some disappointment when he ended up in AHL Hartford to start the 2025-26 campaign.

But with the way the Rangers season has unfolded, Morrow still skated in his 20th game of the year Thursday against the Senators, getting another extended look with Adam Fox on long-term injured reserve. The chances to improve his defensive zone work, eliminate the “boneheaded mistakes” from past seasons and place pressure on himself for more offensive production.
