COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Springs will be full of ‘Uptown Funk’ when Bruno comes to Falcon Stadium in September.
It’s the first time since 2018 that the Air Force Academy has held a music concert.
Air Force Academy Athletics Chief Program Director Nick Kiger said the demand for tickets is high.
“It’s going to be fantastic,” said Kiger.
In fact, Bruno Mars was originally only set to perform in Colorado Springs for one night.
Kiger said tickets were selling so well though, the stadium added another night.
“Speaks a lot for this community,” Kiger continued, “I think people are really excited, as are we here at the Academy.”
The concert will seat around 33,000 people.
That’s potentially 66,000 people coming to the area over the two shows.
“It means room nights, hotel visits, and obviously restaurants and other things that go into that. So I think there is a lot of benefits for Colorado Springs on the whole,” said Kiger.
Over the past eight years since Falcon Stadium’s last concert, Kiger said the venue has gone through improvements.
“There is a ride share plan, cell service, we have made upgrades to the stadium,” Kiger continued. “Stay plugged in with us, we’ll have a lot of updates on our website.”
Stadium officials said a long-term goal for the stadium is to ‘leave the door open’ for more music concerts.
“We’ve been working hard to get back in this world and felt so fortunate to have landed such a big show here,” said Kiger.
Bruno Mars will perform at the Falcon Stadium September 26 and 27.
