Marcus Morris Sr., a 13-year NBA veteran, was arrested on Sunday in Broward County, Florida, after an out-of-state felony warrant was issued for writing a bad check. According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records, Morris was held without bond on the charge.
Florida authorities released Morris’s mug shot, which shows him with a neutral expression, staring straight ahead. Over the years, Morris has faced other legal issues, such as participating in a diversion program for a 2012 battery charge and being acquitted of assault charges related to a 2015 altercation.
A former University of Kansas standout, Morris was selected 14th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. He has since played for multiple teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Clippers. In the 2023–24 season, he split time between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers, ending his NBA career with averages of 12 points and 4.4 rebounds over 832 games.
