My senior Dachshund wasn’t thrilled when we adopted her much younger Pug mix brother. His high-energy personality and clinginess invaded the personal space she was used to, and she took some time to warm up to him. My Puggie just kept trying to win her over with his playful spirit and nonstop snuggle attempts, and he eventually succeeded. Now the two are inseparable.

Binky the Bernese Mountain Dog seemed to have the same experience when she joined her new forever family. Rocco the Golden Retriever was a little hesitant to show his new sister any sort of welcome, but apparently they’ve made an adorable breakthrough.

In the TikTok from @thegoldenboysfredandrocs, the gorgeous Golden was lying on the couch for some R&R time when Binky came over for some cuddles. Rocco wasn’t interested and just turned his head, hoping to give Binky the hint. But the Bernese Mountain Dog didn’t budge.

“Rocco has been very slow taking to his new sister,” the online text explained. “But she keeps trying and trying to win his affection.”

Rocco fidgeted around as Binky continued nuzzling her fur baby brother, refusing to give up on getting a snuggle.

At one point, Binky placed both front paws on the couch and wrapped Rocco up in a hug. It was almost like she said, “Ok big brother, enough is enough, let’s break down these walls!”

The Golden Retriever looked at his sister and either felt moved to return the embrace or simply got tired of the cold shoulder routine. He placed his paw on the Bernese beauty to hug her back, much to the delight of their mom watching the whole scene unfold.

“This has given me hope,” the caption read. “I hope they will be great friends.”

These Fur Babies Earned a Fan Base

Viewers of the heartwarming video fell in love with the sibling pair and were moved by their sweet interaction.
