“The Rip,” Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s new action movie, debuted with 41.6 million views in its first three days on Netflix. That marks the streamer’s biggest film opening since “Happy Gilmore 2” hit 46.7 million views in July — and easily made the film the most-watched title on Netflix during the week of Jan. 12-19.
On the TV chart, “His & Hers” remained at No. 1 with 29.5 million views, a huge leap from its debut with 19.9 million views the week before, which was already enough to reach the top spot. “Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials” debuted with 9.9 million views and took second place, followed by “Run Away” with 6.1 million views in its third week.
For the eighth week in a row, every season of “Stranger Things” made the chart. Season 5 took fourth place with 5.1 million views followed by Season 4 at No. 5 with 3.1 million, Season 3 at No. 6 with 3 million, Season 1 at No. 7 with 2.8 million and Season 2 at No. 9 with 2.8 million views.
“Emily in Paris” Season 5 was the eighth-most-watched English-language TV title of the week with 2.7 million views, and Marcello Hernandez’s stand-up special “American Boy” rounded out the bottom of the chart with 2.5 million.
