Officials say the wolf was killed near the Klamath County border in the Yamsay Mountain area of Oregon. The wolf, a male with a radio collar, was found dead on October 7.

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information about the killing. “The Oregon Wildlife Coalition has a standing reward offer of $10k or more in instances of illegal wolf killing in Oregon,” said Amaroq Weiss, with the Center for Biological Diversity.

“[The] male gray wolf known as OR186 was found dead on public land north of Yamsay Mountain and approximately 10 miles from Jackson Creek Campground (Klamath County) and Upper Buck Creek Campground (Lake County),” U.S. Fish and Wildlife said in a press release.

Anyone with information about this case should call U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the Oregon State Police at 503-682-6131.
