RPJ client Words + Pictures has partnered with ESPN on
Saban, a six-part documentary series currently in
production chronicling the life, career, and legacy of legendary
college football coach Nick Saban.
The series explores Saban’s unprecedented career,
including his 17 seasons at the University of Alabama, where he led
the Crimson Tide to six national championships, as well as his
championship-winning tenure at LSU and earlier coaching stops.
Saban offers rare access to Saban’s closely guarded
world, featuring hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage
from locker rooms, practice fields, and behind-the-scenes moments
throughout his career.
The project also includes extensive present-day interviews with
Saban and his wife, Terry Saban, whose leadership and influence
were integral to his success. In total, the series features more
than 30 hours of interviews with Saban and more than 80 interviews
with former players, coaches, rivals, family members, and
colleagues, providing a comprehensive portrait of one of the most
influential figures in sports history.
Across seven national championships, four Heisman Trophy
winners, and countless NFL alumni, Saban’s career reshaped
the modern landscape of college football. Additional details
regarding the premiere date and episode rollout will be announced
by ESPN at a later time.
