LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A student was hit by a car during a walkout where students were protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Las Vegas Wednesday.

A source told News 3 that a student was hit by a vehicle during a protest at Desert Rose High School. The student is expected to be okay. The driver remained on scene and appeared to be cooperating with police.

Social media flyers promoting anti-ICE walkouts at Las Vegas schools led to several protests on Wednesday morning through the afternoon.

The flyer states, “It no longer matters if you’re a U.S. citizen. With the behavior of I.C.E., it seems that legality no longer matters. If you are a U.S. Citizen and are able to show proof, I.C.E. has no jurisdiction over you, and yet, Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed with the perpetrator facing no consequences because he is shielded by the anonymity I.C.E. provides him.”

The protests are happening locally and across the country in the wake of the death of Renee Good in Minnesota, who was shot and killed by an ICE agent earlier this month.
