Davos forum helped promote brand AP on global platform: CM Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos provided a platform to understand changing trends in the global industrial sector and the perspectives of major industry leaders. He said the visit was also useful in promoting brand Andhra Pradesh on a global platform.On the last day of the Davos summit, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran met the chief minister and enquired about the outcomes of the visit. In response, Naidu explained that meetings held over the last three days were used to present the state’s progress in sectors such as green energy, technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture and tourism. “Andhra Pradesh attracted investments worth ₹2.5 lakh crore following discussions held during the 2025 Davos visit. Global corporate groups are now showing increased interest in India,” Naidu said, and expressed the view that opportunities to establish companies across sectors expanded due to youth participation, leadership, and investor-friendly policies.On the occasion, Chandrasekaran shared his interactions with global industry leaders and his own experiences. Discussions were held on the TCS development centre in Visakhapatnam, the proposed Quantum Valley in Amaravati, and solar power projects proposed in Kurnool district. Chandrasekaran said officials from Tata Trusts would be deputed to hold detailed discussions on programmes proposed through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. The chief minister urged Tata Group to expedite tourism projects in Andhra Pradesh and informed that plans are being prepared for the construction of three sports cities in the state. Chandrasekaran assured cooperation for completion of all projects taken up by Tata Group.In all, Naidu attended over 36 meetings, including three meetings with representatives from Israel, the UAE, and Switzerland. At the World Economic Forum venue, he met 16 global industry leaders, including ArcelorMittal chairman Lakshmi Mittal, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, and IBM CEO Arvind Krishna. He also attended more than nine sessions and meetings.The chief minister said the forum helped assess the implementation of policies taken up by the state to strengthen brand Andhra Pradesh globally. During the visit, he also interacted with Telugu people living in Europe through diaspora programmes. After completing his four-day visit to Davos, the chief minister left for India and is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on Friday morning.
