Karen Khachanov and Luciano Darderi will be squaring off for the first time in their careers when they clash in round three of the Australian Open on Saturday.

Darderi is playing great right now, but he is the essence of a clay-court specialist. All four of the Argentine’s titles have come on the red stuff and prior to this fortnight he had won only two total matches at the two hard-court Grand Slams throughout his career.

Khachanov, on the other hand, is a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist (including at the Aussie Open) and has reached four other major quarterfinals. The Russian has looked good so far in Melbourne, ousting tough Americans Alex Michelsen and Nishesh Basavareddy.

Pick: Khachanov in 4
