New Phoenix Suns standout guard/forward Dillon Brooks sent more shots towards Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Brooks has had history of beef with James since dating back to when he was with his first NBA squad, the Memphis Grizzlies. The bad blood has spilled over into the three games Brooks has played against James and the Lakers this season, and Brooks recently explained why he antagonizes James when talking to streamer Agent.

“If this was LeBron maybe five years ago, then it would be different,” Brooks said. “Maybe like six years ago. Miami Bron, you’re not really talking (expletive) to him. … (He had) more game to him, more agile. Right now, he’s old.”

James is 41 years old, while Brooks is 30 years old. Six years ago James was runner-up for NBA’s Most Valuable Player award, was selected First-Team All-NBA, led the NBA with 10.2 assists per game and scored 25.3 points per game. Since, James has never finished in the top five for MVP voting, has never been selected First-Team All-NBA and has seen his assist average drop to 7.5 per game.

“So like, you can press up in him,” Brooks continued. “You can like, cut him off spots. You know his moves he’s going to do. So you can always chirp a little bit. For some reason he likes to do a little chirping, but then he realizes I got a lot of ammo.”

Brooks has a 2-1 record against James this season. James is averaging under 20 points per game against Brooks and the Suns this year, along with his fewest rebounds per game average (1.7) against any team this season. The next Suns matchup with the Lakers is in Phoenix, on Feb. 26.
