(WPDE) — Due to potential winter weather this weekend, some places are issuing closures and various events have been canceled across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

HORRY COUNTY

The following Horry County Recycling Convenience Centers will operate under a delayed opening on Sunday, Jan. 25:

Socastee Recycling Center – 1-6 p.m.Landfill Recycling Center – 1-6 p.m.

The remaining recycling centers normally open on Sundays will be operating under normal hours, 1-6 p.m.

Officials said these times are are subject to change.

MYRTLE BEACH

Officials said City of Myrtle Beach operations remain normal until further notice.

However, Myrtle Beach’s 24-hour endurance run has been rescheduled to Feb. 7 and 8, 2026.

Youth basketball practices scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, are canceled at Crabtree Memorial Gym and Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH

At this time, officials said city facilities and operations are on normal schedules.

The Public Works Department initiated pre-treatment of bridges, roadways, and access points around City facilities early this morning as a precautionary measure. Public Safety operations are also prepared, with the Police and Fire Departments implementing staffing plans to ensure readiness for any impacts that may occur Saturday night through Monday morning,” a release from the City of NMB said.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY

All Georgetown County recycling centers will be closed on Sunday, according to officials.

The Georgetown County Magistrates Office will also cancel all jury trials scheduled for Monday. They will be rescheduled at a later date.

CITY OF DILLON

All City of Dillon offices will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26.

TOWN OF LATTA

Officials said the town will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday.
