“Landman” fans have a while to wait for more of the neo-western drama.
There won’t be a new episode of “Landman” on Sunday, Jan. 25, as season 2 came to an end on Jan. 18. The Paramount+ series has already been renewed for season 3, and it’s likely that the new installment will premiere later this year.
During a November 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Landman” co-creator Christian Wallace said he thinks “it’s the plan” for season 3 to debut in 2026.
“We hate to make people wait too long, and we’re all excited to get back and do it again. After we wrap, a couple weeks later, we’re like, ‘Dang, I miss everybody’ — cast and crew,“ Wallace said. ”We have such a great crew. I think we’re ready to get back to it as soon as we can.”
Sam Elliott, who joined the cast for season 2, has said that filming will resume this spring.
“We’re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season 3,” Elliott told Extra TV in November 2025.
The first two seasons of “Landman” premiered in November 2024 and November 2025, so a November 2026 premiere date for season 3 seems likely.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 2 of “Landman.”
Season 2 of “Landman” ended with a new beginning. After being fired from his longtime position at M-Tex Oil, Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) decided to go into business for himself with the financial backing of cartel boss Gallino (Andy Garcia). During the last moments of the season finale, Tommy presented the business plan to his family, closest colleagues and even his father T.L.’s (Elliott) new unlicensed physical therapist Cheyenne (Francesca Xuereb), who also happens to be a stripper.
Tommy pointed out that his son, Cooper (Jacob Lofland), recently acquired “seven square miles” of oil drilling leases. With Gallino funding the drilling and an agreed upon 50/50 split of the profits, “we’ve got our own oil company,” Tommy told his nearest and dearest.

The entire group, including Rebecca (Kayla Wallace), Nathan (Colm Feore) and Dale (James Jordan), agreed to the new venture. Tommy named Cooper the President, asked T.L. to remotely oversee drilling and offered his future daughter-in-law Ariana (Paulina Chavez) an office manager position.

Although the episode ended on a celebratory note, things never stay rosy for long on “Landman.” After all, Gallino vowed to destroy everything Tommy cares about if their deal goes wrong.
“The calmness behind that threat is what makes me scared — how little emotion he shows to let you know that he’s truthful and means what he says,” Lofland told The Hollywood Reporter of Gallino’s threat. “Cooper kind of failed upwards and it wound up working out for everybody. It could be a great help or a real problem.”
“Landman” is available to stream on Paramount+.
