Pittsburgh Regional Transit has suspended all bus and rail services Sunday amid wintry weather conditions throughout the region. PRT said in a post that services will be suspended immediately due to “deteriorating conditions.” “Our operators deserve to be commended for doing their best under very challenging conditions, but the situation has deteriorated to the point where continuing service could put both our operators and riders at risk,” said PRT CEO Katharine Kelleman said in a release shortly after the social media post was made. “With several buses already stuck in the snow, we must err on the side of caution and safety.”The Downtown Service Center, PRT said, will remain closed Monday. Riders may continue to reach Customer Service representatives by phone and online, PRT said in a post. ACCESS paratransit will make every effort to operate on Monday; however, riders with scheduled trips and medical providers have been advised to expect delays, particularly in the morning.They said normal transit operations are expected to resume Monday morning.
