Possible meteorite spotted over western Maine, northern New Hampshire

Numerous people reported seeing a streak of light or fireball through the sky over western Maine and northern New Hampshire early Wednesday.The apparent meteorite was caught on camera by the Brownville Food Pantry for the Deer’s camera at 5:17 a.m.In March 2025, NASA confirmed small meteorites fell in Washington County in February of that year.Officials at the space agency said there were widespread reports of a sonic boom across downeast Maine just after 8 p.m. on Feb. 21. They now say meteorites fell near Codyville Plantation, calling it a “low-mass meteorite fall.”
