When a family heard what sounded like baby animal cries coming from their ceiling, they weren’t sure what to do. Rather than try to tackle the problem themselves, they contacted Gates Wildlife for help.
Gates Wildlife is known for safely removing animals from places they don’t belong, mainly people’s homes, and they were confident they’d be able to take care of the little family who’d moved into someone else’s home uninvited.

When the rescuers arrived, they found a spot in the ceiling that felt warmer and made an educated guess that the babies were somewhere around there. They very carefully cut into the ceiling — and ended up pulling out a whole pile of little baby raccoons.
“They’re tiny guys,” one of the rescuers said in a video posted to The Dodo.

The rescuers could hear the mama raccoon making noise nearby, worried about what was happening to her kits. They worked as quickly as possible so that she wouldn’t have to be concerned for long.
Once all the babies were safely out of the ceiling, the next task was getting them back to their mom. Luckily, the mama raccoon was still nearby, waiting somewhat patiently for her babies to be returned to her.
The rescuers placed a single baby on the ground to show Mom where they were — and before long, the baby was back in her arms again.
One by one, the mama came and collected her babies and whisked them away to somewhere much safer than a ceiling. The rescuers watched her go, thankful that the ordeal had a very happy ending.
