Earlier in this blog, we brought you the news that Carlitos’ long-time former coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, who is now a golf coach, was coy about the possibility of coaching Jannik Sinner next, while revealing his heartbreak at being parted from the world No.1, with whom he remains friendly.
Ferrer was asked to comment on the Alcaraz-Ferrero split, too.
“Ferrero is very sincere. It’s normal that the separation was difficult, that there’s pain; it was a long partnership, but these things happen in tennis, in sports,” Ferrer said.“Both parties are very good people.”
During his brief but amicable spell of coaching Zverev, Ferrer helped the German star reach the US Open final in 2020.
