Breaking: Emily Collins named interim executive director of CDA

UMATILLA, MORROW COUNTIES — During a special meeting Friday afternoon, the Columbia Development Authority appointed project coordinator Emily Collins to a new role as interim executive director.
Collins fills the vacancy left by Greg Smith, who unexpectedly resigned Tuesday, Jan. 27. Her appointment was approved unanimously by the CDA board.
The board had earlier in its special meeting adopted a hiring policy and position description of the full-time role. Collins will earn a salary of about 90% of what Smith had earned, or about $118,800, while she holds the temporary position for a time not to exceed six months without additional CDA board action.
