Bitterly cold temps don’t stop runners from wrapping up DONNA Marathon Weekend

  • February 1, 2026

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Freezing temperatures were not going to stop dedicated Jacksonville Beach runners from completing the 19th annual DONNA Marathon.

The marathon wrapped on Sunday at the Seawalk Pavilion despite potentially record-low temperatures and strong winds.

News4JAX meteorologist Katie Garner urged the community to layer up, limit time outdoors, and treat this like true winter weather.

Seth Butler was visibly shivering, but said he wasn’t going to let the weather stop him from making it to the finish line.

“I got to complete the marathon,” Butler said. “I did the marathon last year. I can’t be the guy who didn’t complete the full.”

Butler said his driving force was finishing under four hours.

“This guy is going to win it all,” Seth’s friend said in support of his efforts.

The race experience brings together thousands of runners, survivors of breast cancer, families, and supporters to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

“It’s awesome, running for a cause, spreading awareness, and raising money; it’s a great deal,” first-time runner Conner Moore said.

The race already surpassed it’s $200,000 goal on Friday. All proceeds support the Donna Foundation.
