An Atlantic City man admitted Friday throwing a rock through a jewelry store window and later driving a car stolen from Ohio.

Terry Fletcher, 59, pleaded guilty to third-degree charges of criminal mischief and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

He faces a three-year sentence under the plea agreement.

The first incident happened Feb. 13, 2023, when police were called to Helzberg Diamonds after an alarm was set off.

Officers arrived to find glass to the business shattered with a large rock in the center of the room.

Surveillance video showed Fletcher approach the building, throw a large rock and walk away.

Four months later, Absecon police stopped a Toyota Echo with a fraudulent registration affixed to it.

Fletcher was driving and told the officer that the registration already was on it when he bought it, and that he did not have any documents with his name on it to prove ownership.

Instead, he handed the officer a torn, folded piece of loose-leaf paper with “Bill of Sale!” written on it.

The Toyota also was hotwired.

It was then found to have been stolen out of Ohio.

Fletcher was charged on summonses in both crimes.

He has been in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since Oct. 10 of last year.

Fletcher is due to be sentenced May 8, when he will have about seven months toward his three-year sentence.Â
