Feb. 2 (UPI) — Sheriff’s deputies were called to a snowy Virginia road where a loose kangaroo was reported blocking traffic.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said on social media that deputies responded Saturday “to the intersection of Thomas Nelson Highway and Oak Ridge Road, for a report of a kangaroo in the roadway obstructing traffic.”
The deputies were able to guide the marsupial out of the Route 29 roadway and onto a private property off Oak Ridge Road, where it was kept secured until its owner arrived.
The kangaroo was found to be injured, but is expected to make a full recover, the sheriff’s office said.
