Detroit Pistons send former first-round pick Jaden Ivey to Chicago in three-team deal

  • February 3, 2026

DETROIT. (WILX) – The Detroit Pistons have agreed to a three-team trade that will send former first-round pick Jaden Ivey to the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Ivey, 23, was selected 5th overall by Detroit in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Purdue. He was having the best season of his career when he suffered a season-ending leg injury last January and has not been able to return to that level of play since. Ivey will likely be a restricted free agent this offseason.

Detroit will get back Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric from Chicago, along with a 2026 protected first-round pick swap with Minnesota. Huerter is averaging 10.9 points per game and adds reliable three-point shooting to the Pistons’ bench. Saric has played sparingly this season. The trade puts Detroit one player over the roster limit, so another deal is likely to follow.

Mike Conley was also sent from Minnesota to Chicago in the deal.

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday.
