WANA (Feb 04) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said preparations are underway to hold negotiations between Iran and the United States in the coming days, following a directive from the Iranian president.
Responding to a question about coordination efforts for the talks, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said planning for the negotiations has been carried out and consultations are ongoing to determine the venue. He added that details will be announced once finalized.
Baghaei expressed appreciation to friendly countries that have shown goodwill and concern by helping facilitate the formation of a diplomatic process. He emphasized that, in principle, determining the time and place of the talks is not a complicated issue and should not be used for media maneuvering.
He noted that Turkey, Oman, and several other regional countries have expressed readiness to host the talks, calling their offers valuable to Iran.
