DANVILLE, MONTOUR CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a bomb threat reported Tuesday evening near Danville State Hospital in Montour County.

Troopers from the Milton barracks say they were dispatched around 7:13 p.m. to the area of 50 Kirkbride Drive in Mahoning Township after receiving a report of a possible explosive threat. Danville State Hospital is located nearby.

Authorities say the investigation is active and ongoing. Police have stated there was no immediate danger to the public and urged people to stay away from the area as a precaution.

Roads leading into the scene have been closed while troopers work to secure the area and investigate the threat. Officials say more information will be released once it becomes available.
