CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — There’s an abundance of talent that lives in the mountains of West Virginia, but one lucky local is making her big break on a national stage.
22-year-old Lincoln High School alumna, Olivia Spino, of Shinnston, is set to make her debut on American Idol next week, as she had the opportunity to audition in front of Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood.

In an interview with 12 News, Spino said she’s been singing since she could talk and briefly took lessons at a young age.
But it was a TikTok video that scored more than 4 million views that landed Spino the opportunity to perform on American Idol, as she and her friend staged the scene of her singing an Adele song for shock.

“It hit like, I think like 5 million views or something like that, 4 million. And then, not even like after it hit a few hundred thousand, I got texts from American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and stuff like that, and I was just like, ‘What is going on!?’ I remember at 3:00 am I was staying with my friend Allison, and I was like, ‘Look at this video…They want me to audition, like they’re contacting me,” Spino said.
Currently, Olivia is a server at Texas Roadhouse and is well known to those who dine in for her boisterous personality and, of course, her singing voice.

Some of Spino’s musical favorites include Michael Jackson and Tina Turner, although she hopes to step outside of her comfort zone within her new endeavor on American Idol.
Although it isn’t known just yet whether or not Spino has made it through the auditions, she was able to share that she performed a Carrie Underwood song titled “Love Wins.”
You can catch Olivia’s audition next Monday, Feb. 9, at 8:00 p.m. on WBOY-ABC.
