Bear spotted lounging in a tree outside hospital in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — A bear was seen lounging in a tree Monday morning outside the Virginia Baptist Hospital.

“Virginia Baptist Hospital employees got a good look at the bear, and it was a great pick-me-up,” said Jess Tennant, along with some photos sent to us.

The Department of Wildlife Resources stuck around to monitor the bear for some time, and eventually left.

ABC 13 has reached out to find out where the bear went next, but we have not heard back.
