WALKER COUNTY, Ga. — An account manager for Gordian told Walker County Commissioners Thursday that the county’s courthouse is full of environmental hazards.

On Thursday, Kayla Johnson with Gordian told commissioners that a recent walkthrough and structural review at the facility led to that discovery.

“We did notice that there is mold, asbestos and lead-based paint through the courthouse,” said Johnson.

Johnson also said problems with the courthouse’s roof caused water to leak into the building.

“The courthouse has got to have some attention.”

$168,743 was approved by commissioners for Gordian to remediate the courthouse.
