Kliff Kingsbury reportedly found his next team.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Peter Schrager reported Friday that Kingsbury agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Rams to join head coach Sean McVay’s offensive staff.

McVay is widely known as one of the best offensive minds in football, and the Rams also have Nathan Scheelhaase on that offensive staff. That suggests Kingsbury will be far from a solo play-caller, although he adds plenty of experience to the list of coaches.

He was most notably the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 through 2022 after he was the head coach for Texas Tech the previous six years. His Cardinals teams went a combined 28-37-1, although the 2021 team reached the playoffs.

Quarterback Kyler Murray made back-to-back Pro Bowls during the 2020 and 2021 campaigns when working with Kingsbury.

Most recently, Kingsbury was the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders the past two seasons.

The 2024 Commanders reached the NFC Championship Game with an offense that finished fifth in the league in scoring, but they took a step back this past season on the way to a 5-12 record with a group that finished 22nd in scoring.

Injuries to quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin didn’t help the 2025 efforts, but Washington still parted ways with Kingsbury.

That cleared the way for him to join a Rams team that will be looking to take the next step after losing in the NFC Championship Game this season.
