LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The North American beaver that was found covered in icicles while limping near a liquor store in Lincoln last month has begun its rehabilitation process at Nebraska Wildlife Rehab.
On Jan. 24, Lincoln Animal Control received a call regarding a possible injured animal outside of a liquor store around 20th and O streets.
Animal control said, upon arrival, officers found a beaver in rough condition. The beaver was taken for further rehabilitation at Nebraska Wildlife Rehab.
Over the past two weeks, the team at Nebraska Wildlife Rehab has addressed the beaver’s injuries and marked improvements to both his mobility and appetite – amazing signs of improvement.
He’s now resting comfortably in a quiet, temperature-controlled space while caregivers monitor his progress and continue supportive care.
