MANCHESTER, Tenn. — Some Middle Tennessee residents are being asked to reduce their water use due to an extremely high demand.
All residents in Manchester, Tullahoma, Wartrace, Bell Buckle, Hillsboro and Pelham are being asked on Saturday by The Duck River Utility Commission for a reduction in their water use. The commission said demand is over one million gallons a day higher than normal since the cold snap.
The DRUC requested that customers voluntarily conserve water for the next two weeks on February 4, but the request issued by the cities has not improved the excess water demand situation.
Residents have also been asked to refrain from washing vehicles or watering lawns.

A complete failure of the water system in less than a week is a possible consequence if water usage by customers isn’t reduced, DRUC warned.
