Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, has said that negotiations with the United States marked a step forward.

In a post on X on Sunday, February 8, Pezeshkian wrote that dialogue has always been Iran’s strategy for achieving a peaceful resolution.

He added: “The Iranian nation has always responded to respect with respect, but it does not accept the language of force.”

The Iranian president noted that the talks with the United States were held following efforts by countries in the region.

Representatives of the United States and Iran held indirect talks in Oman on Friday.

US President Donald Trump and Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi both described the negotiations as positive.

However, the two sides have apparently not yet reached an agreement.
