Rochester, N.Y. — Golisano Children’s Hospital has partnered with Hearts for Isabella for their annual snow sculpture event.
Work on the sculpture kicked off this morning.
The sculpture is designed so that children can enjoy it from the comfort of their hospital rooms, providing a cheerful distraction during their stay.
“We are very blessed to be able to do this for these children, and some of them do get to come down and see it from the windows here, too, if they are able,” said William Dombrowski, CFO for Hearts for Isabella. “It’s all about the smiles and bringing a little bit of comfort during the tough time in the hospital, so it’s a beautiful thing.”
Hearts for Isabella is a non-profit organization established six years ago in memory of Isabella, who passed away from Hypoplastic Right Heart syndrome, a form of congenital heart disease (CHD).
