Dozens of firefighters and police ascended on Ross Park Mall early Sunday morning. Allegheny County dispatchers say crews were called to the area around the mall around 4:15 a.m. Sunday. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 crew on scene could see firefighters going in and out of the building near the JCPenney’s entrance. According to the Reserve Volunteer Fire Department the fire was in a void space between the floors. Firefighters say the fire also elevated carbon monoxide levels throughout the complex.Right now the mall remains closed. A post on the mall’s website says they will try to open later Sunday at noon.
