Joe Breezy has departed his roles as afternoon host at Midwest Communications AC “Mix 92.9” WJXA Nashville and correspondent for WKRN-TV’s “Local On 2” for a new opportunity to be announced.
Breezy has spent the past decade in Nashville first as APD/afternoon host and later Program Director of CHR “i106.7” WNFN. He moved to mornings in May 2020 when it relaunched as “Hot 106.7” and then to afternoons at WJXA in July 2023 following WNFN’s flip to Classic Country. Breezy began his career in promotions at KYLD San Francisco before later returning to host nights there. He has also worked on air at KDON Monterey, KHTN Modesto, KKFR and KZON Phoenix, KHTS-FM San Diego, KDND Sacramento, WWVA Atlanta, and WODS Boston also using the on-air aliases of ‘David J’ and ‘Gringo Suave’. Breezy also serves as Manager of Industry Relations and Music Director and hosts the Sunday edition of the syndicated “Open House Party”.
Breezy told listeners on Friday that he had a “career milestone opportunity that he could not say no to”. His wife, WKRN-TV Chief Meteorologist Danielle Breezy, will be remaining in her position.
With Breezy’s departure, WJXA Brand Manager Barbara Bridges expands her midday show to 10am-2pm, while 1-4pm host Butter moves to 2-7pm.
