Combat Records appears poised for yet another revival.
Founded in 1982, the label cemented its legacy with the release of Megadeth’s 1985 debut Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!, maintaining a relationship with the thrash giants into the early 1990s. Over the years, Combat’s roster also included Exodus, Morbid Angel, Carcass, and more.
The brand has changed hands multiple times since, with past iterations involving Relativity Records, Koch Records, and later David Ellefson alongside then-business partner Thom Hazaert.
This latest resurrection finds Combat Records now owned by Robert Dujmusic of Eternal Sound Records, alongside Alex Stojak.
A press release regarding the announcement shared:
Combat Records back under new ownership.
Legendary US metal label, Combat Records, is to be relaunched this year under the new ownership of former Eternal Sound Records owner, Robert Dujmusic and Alex Stojak.
Formerly run by Megadeth’s David Ellefson, the iconic record label was responsible for early releases by Megadeth, Exodus and Agnostic Front amongst many others and is considered among the most influential and important of the early US metal labels.
As of January 2026, Combat Records will now be run under the new ownership of independent movie producers Alex Stojak and Robert Dujmusic from its new office in Gottingen, Germany.
Dujmusic, former owner of the now inactive Eternal Sound Records and Heavyspace touring agency, says of the acquisition:
“It is the honour of a lifetime to be able to continue the legacy of such an important part of heavy music history and I’m super excited for what we’ve got coming up. Combat is back!”
To which David Ellefson added:
“It’s good to know that the Combat Records brand has landed into the right hands and will continue to thrive with Christian and Rob at the helm.”
The label has already expanded its infrastructure into distribution, PR, festivals and touring and has already confirmed its first wave of releases including several established bands as well as offering development opportunities to emerging artists.
Also on the team is former Eternal Sound partner, Nicole Wendeborn as A&R manager and as US manager, Christian ‘Opus’ Lawrence (ex Cro-Mags drummer and current drummer for Dead by Wednesday, Earth and Tantric).
Updates will be announced on the newly invigorated Combat Records website and social media accounts to be launched soon.
