Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street’s Sam Blakeman comes up with a risky plan to expose Megan Walsh’s crimes next week, when he tries to find evidence of her inappropriate relationship with Will Driscoll. Is Megan about to be outsmarted, or can she stay one step ahead?

Determined to prove what the predatory teacher is up to, Sam hides a camera in Megan’s flat to record proof of what she’s doing – but could his plan backfire?

“Megan thinks she’s shut down Sam’s suspicions – but don’t underestimate Weatherfield’s child genius!” begins our Corrie insider.

“Sam is rattled by manipulative Megan’s veiled threats to keep his nose out of her business, though he remains on a mission to reveal her true colours. Can he finally get one step ahead?”

With Leanne Battersby away for a few nights, Megan has the salon flat to herself and tells an excited Will they can use the place to be together. Will lies to his father Ben that he’s going to stay at a mate’s house, only to sneak off to Megan’s place to continue their disturbing relationship.

However, Will doesn’t notice Sam clocking him from across the street. Sam has a key to his stepmum’s flat, so decides to let himself in so he can do some revision – and keep an eye on Megan in the process.

“Megan is on the back foot when Sam pays an unannounced visit,” notes our spy. “She’s not happy, but can hardly stop her flatmate’s stepson coming round.

“Once she’s gone out, Sam has more than studying on his mind as he executes his plan – he’s putting a hidden camera in the flat so he can spy on Megan.”

Aware of Sam’s snooping and needing to keep him onside, Will says they should hang out at the precinct and drink some stolen vodka. Will assures his schoolmate there’s nothing untoward going on between him and Megan – maintaining the cover story that it’s strictly about athletics.

However, Sam’s not convinced and tries to get his pal to come clean. Unfortunately, Sam’s digging is cut short when Daniel spies the boys engaging in underage boozing. As he angrily approaches them, Will does a runner and Sam is left to face punishment from Mr Osbourne.

Later, Sam gets a moment to himself and logs onto the camera app on his phone and sees Will and Megan both entering the flat. Has he finally got the evidence he needs?

“Before he can watch any more footage, Nick confiscates Sam’s phone,” shares our source. “Then when he gets it back the next day the battery’s run out.

“It’s so frustrating – Sam felt he was closer than ever to finding proof of what Megan is doing. But Megan then makes it very clear to Sam she will do anything to thwart him…”

Cornering Sam, mean Megan quietly warns the lad that nobody would believe him even if he did say something, as he’s not as clever as he thinks he is. Scared Sam then goes back to his now fully recharged phone – but what will he see?

Coronation Street has worked on Will and Megan’s grooming storyline with support from Barnardo’s. Support and information is available via the charity’s website.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
