MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Whale watchers in Monterey Bay were treated to a rare encounter last week.
A sperm whale was spotted on Thursday morning, as well as four gray whales and 5 Dall’s porpoise.
Then, on Friday, there were three different species of dolphins, humpbacks, and more gray whales.

The sightings were aboard the Monterey Bay Whale Watch tour.
They said the sperm whale that was spotted is the same male they encountered several times, including twice last year in June and again on Thanksgiving.
We have been hearing sperm whale clicking vocalizations on the MBARI hydrophone off and one for a week or two now, so it was such a treat to observe this special individual once again.Comment with Bubbles
